how to train your dragon.

After a long bout of procrastination, I finally saw Dreamworks' "How to Train Your Dragon". I was not sure what to expect of this film. 3D animations are so hit or miss, so I didn't want to get my hopes up, and I wasn't too excited. Since it's release, many people have praised and even created fan art of "How to Train Your Dragon", so I figured it was time to see what it was that had people so excited.

From the beginning to the end, I enjoyed every moment of this film, and was never bored or disappointed. It's nice to see 3D isn't just about using random camera angles to poke things into the eyes of the audience anymore, and is more a tool used to bring the audience into the worlds that are created.

I loved the characters, from the vikings to the dragons. The film as a whole was very visually appealing, with a lot of great designs. The story was pretty simple, but really cute; I admit a couple times I choked back some tears. The only thing I disliked was the main character, Hiccup's voice, it didn't seem to fit, and I found it annoying (unless that was intentional...?).

"How to Train Your Dragon" had a lot of laughs, a lot of heart, and a lot of fun. I highly recommend it, and guarantee you will wish you owned a dragon, or at least some toys from the movie.

  1. I agree with you on the Hiccup character. Jay Baruchel is an annoying actor in general and his voice doesn't help. Maybe he hasn't reached puberty yet. Only thing I didn't like about that movie, was Hiccup's character design. There were other character designs that I wasn't a fan of. I just felt cheated. But yeah other than that I agree...this movie was awesome!
